Going for Record!

We leave little green army men as our signature.
We set out early on a Sunday morning to attempt to break the record for most geocaches found in a single day. We  got 13, only 551 short of the record!!!!!!  Since it was hot we focussed on ones near the road and the sanctuary of A/C.  Here are some ohotos of mainly the micro-caches we found.

Finally - caught up with all our geocaching activity. Phil and I went out on a hot day and caught some that were close to the car. Found a couple really quickly.

Feelinng confident that our geocaching skills were top notch, we could find anything, we went off to try and find ones that we could not find before.  My, were we humbled!!!! Couldn't find them so we sent off some emails to get some help.

Camping in Sedona, no Flagstaff 5/14/11

Well we set off to go camping up in Sedona, has it all planned, but there were no campsites available so we ended up in Flagstaff!  Had a great time. Nice and cool.

We set off to do dome geocaching after a very lazy morning. It took a lovely hike at Griffith Springs. Would never have gone there otherwise.

Carried along along the spring to get another one, but had to climb up the canyon wall to get this one. It was right at the top. Probably the most difficult one to get to so far.

Did a another Earth Geocache focussing on the Red Rocks. Really interesting information about the geological layers

Afternoon Stroll 5/7/11

One a hot day we went out for a drive and a short stroll near Desert Breeze Park and found a couple there including a fake Sprinker head and a Electrical Plate that just blended in!! How inventive is that!  What was really nice was that as we were walking around we saw a woodpecker climb a tree right in front of us and peck away. Also stopped at the bank and found one hidden in the lamp post.

Full of Electricity 5/6/11

After replacing out "Take your vitamins" cache that Coyotees and run off with, I picked up a couple of urban caches that both and Electric in the name.

Camping with Boy Scouts 4/30/11

Caught this one while camping with Phil and his Boy Scout troop. What was so interesting is that i found a Boy Scout troop patch form a boy scout troop in New Mexico in the Cache. Nice short hike with a lot of the cactus flowers out . Took it as a trinket to show the boys and gave a little show and tell around the campfire about geocaching.

Picnic at the top of South Mountain - Melanie looking cure sitting at the back of the Jeep. Lovely Day. We started off  with an Earthcache - which is a geocache that focusses on geological formation. It is really interesting reading.
